Imran has a wild streak to him!

Imran Khan may have made a debut with a chocolate boy image but in his forthcoming film KIDNAP, which is produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd. Imran plays a macho and rugged character in which he has a scene where he keeps jabbing a knife between Minissha's fingers!

Imran was required to use a fake knife for the shots. But for the close–ups, the director Sanjay Gadhvi preferred the real knife as it would look authentic! One can expect Imran to get goose pimples at the thought of jabbing a real knife with such continuity between Minissha's fingers. But it looks like Imran is quite the pro at it! He seems to have mastered the art when he was at boarding school and confesses to love doing it!!! He says, ''I love doing that and if you look at my hand closely, I still have a few scars of the days when I used to do it.''

Commenting on the scene, Minissha says; ''I was terrified. We had to use a real knife as it was a close up. Imran had assured me that I was in safe hands since he had done this kind of thing with friends while growing up. I was genuinely on the verge of being knifed during the take and I didn't have to move at all. But true to his word, Imran was a master at this and I got to see another day with all my fingers intact!''

Well, Imran's wild streak is something we are sure no one suspected him off!

Bipasha Basu ko gussa kyon aata hai?

Despite giving two hits this year in form of RACE and BACHNA AE HASEENO, Bipasha Basu is rather angry with the situation that she finds herself in. Well, it has nothing to do with her professional or personal front. The situation has arisen after her agreeing to work with new and somewhat younger stars like Ranbir Kapoor and Neil Nitin Mukesh.

It has led to a section of the media and the press asking her a lot of idiotic questions like how it feels to work with heroes younger than her. To those inquisitive and immature journos, the hot and sexy actress has one simple answer – Why don't they go and ask Aishwarya Rai how it feels to marry a guy younger to her by almost two years? She is however quick to add that despite the age gap, the couple remains one of the most happening and well loved and appreciated couples of Bollywood.

Bipasha also clarifies that she is older to Ranbir by just about a year or so and their vibrant chemistry in BACHNA AE HASEENO has come in for a lot of praise. And as for Nitin, he too is no kid and she is sure that her on–screen pairing with Neil Nitin Mukesh in her next venture, FREEZE, will also be appreciated by the paying audience.

Preity goes back to school!

Acting wise, the pretty Preity Zinta may not exactly be a (late) Smita Patil or a Konkona Sen Sharma, but she has proved her histrionic capabilities with films like SANGHARSH (1999), KYA KEHNA (2000), VEER ZAARA (2004) and recently in Rituparno Ghosh's THE LAST LEAR. But that does not stop Preity from honing her acting skills further as proved by the preparations she has put in for her role in Samir Karnik's upcoming Diwali release, HEROES.

As per sources, Preity plays a widow in HEROES and the role required her to speak with an almost perfect Punjabi accent. Now Preity is from Shimla and educated at a public school there and so despite knowing Punjabi she was not fluent in the language. Guess what the lady did? She went to a top acting school and got herself trained and tutored for the same. The results are there for all to see in the promos of HEROES, where Preity looks every inch a part of the character.

Well, seeing her commitment, we can confidently say that Preity still has a long innings to play in Bollywood!

DRONA picks up steam' heads for a win

With two weeks to go for the release, DRONA has started picking up steam at just the right time. The film is being considerably hyped and though the initial promotion had left much to be desired, last 10 odd days has shown momentum in a big way, hence resulting in an enhanced buzz.

The film's promotion has suddenly shown an impetus, something which was surprisingly missing in the early days. KIDNAP, which was releasing on the same day, was moving ahead with a relentless approach and it had seemed that the combined power of Sanju and Imran would eat away the prospects of DRONA by a large margin.

However, that's not the case anymore!

As witnessed in last 10 days, DRONA has started making its presence felt all over, whether it is music channels, magazines, newspapers, radio or the world of internet. The word DRONA is being flashed all over while the latest set of promos has ignited a newfound curiosity about watching a film. Suddenly DRONA, a film which looked like a mix–n–match of numerous special effects films from the West, has started catching on an Indian flavor with myth and reality coming together to create an exciting composition.

Abhishek Bachchan as a descendant of 'Drona' who will soon turn into a savior, Priyanka Chopra as a young woman who represents a clan and makes Abhishek aware about his real identity, Kay Kay Menon as the descendant of 'asuras' (demons) and Jaya Bachchan as Abhishek's mother – all of them have been unveiled in the promos which are blazing across entertainment channels 24X7.

With a much increased awareness being created by the makers of DRONA, one expects that the film shows an exponential increase over next 15 days. This would ensure that it not just face the huge challenge in the form of KIDNAP but also makes a huge impression for itself on it's 2nd October release.

Minissha lost in the sea?

Minissha Lamba's much talked about KIDNAP saw the actress push frontiers as far as her previous box–office outings are concerned. And we aren't just talking about her new bikini–licious body!

Everyone knows that Minissha has quite an adventurous streak in her and is quite a water baby. The schedule of KIDNAP in Mauritius involved scenes where she was required to take a dip in the sea. During one such shot, so engrossed was Minissha in her mid–sea swim that she did not realize that the currents had pushed her far from where she was supposed to be.

The film's cameraman was the first to realize that she was nowhere in the frame! The crew panicked as the underwater currents had pushed her about 2 kilometers away from the coastline while Minissha was blissfully unaware of the situation. It took the crew ten minutes to finally spot the petite actress, much to everyone's relief. A speedboat was sent to retrieve her immediately!

Director Sanjay Gadhvi confirmed the news. ''It was scary to say the least but all's well that ends well!'' he remarked.

KIDNAP is this year's grand Id attraction, being relased worldwide by Indian Films – Studio 18 on Wednesday October 1st. It is Sanjay Dutt's first release of 2008 and new–age heartthrob Imran Khan's first release after his maiden smash hit, JAANE TU YA JAANE NA. Bollywood Paradize

Priyanka Chopra does a Matrix stunt in Drona?

It is known news that Priyanka Chopra is playing the body guard of Abhishek Bachchan in Drona. But we have found that her role in the film is modelled completely on the Trinity character played by actress Carrie-Ann Moss in the super hit Matrix series films.

Sources reveal, “Priyanka Chopra’s character in the film is shown well versed in the ancient Sikh martial arts called Gatka. She even took special training in it to bring authenticity to her action sequences. Her role requires her to tap down Abhishek Bachchan in Europe and make him realise his hidden potential of a super hero. Then on she is always there to protect Abhishek from the evil forces headed by the villain in the film, Kay Kay Menon. There are many scenes between her and Abhishek in Drona which will remind viewers of Matrix 1 where Trinity first meets Neo (played by Keanu Reeves) and then on inspires him to realise his full potential of being “the one”. Her entry in the film too begins just like Trinity’s in Matrix where she tries saving the hero from the evil ones who are out to get him. Priyanka is not new to action roles. She was last seen doing action on screen in Farhan Akhtar’s Don.”

Vidya Balan taking tutions in Ishkiyaan

Vidya Balan is presently taking tutions in a particular UP dialect for her upcoming film, Ishkiyaan. The film stars Vidya opposite Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah. Vidya’s role in the film has a few grade shades and she is supposed to fool the uncle-nephew duo of Naseer and Arshad in it. Ishkiyaan is produced by Vishal Bharadwaj and directed by his assistant director Abhishek Chaubey.

Our source reveals, “When Vidya was given the final draft of the script, she expressed her inability to be very fluent in mouthing the UP dialect which one saw in Vishal’s Omkara which was incidentally co-written by Ishkiyaan director Abhishek Chaubey along with Vishal. The trio then mutually agreed upon having a tutor for Vidya for 15 days to get her well versed with the language and speak in the right dialect. Vidya is a South Indian but she is picking up the language very fast. The film shoot begins from mid October.”

Konkona Sen had faced the same language problem when shooting for Omkara and that time, Vishal had taught the language himself. Konkona had gone on to bag the Best Supporting Actress National Award for that role. Looks like Vidya might just do that!

Special language lessons to learn a specific UP dialect for her upcoming next, Ishkiyaan. This Vishal Bharadwaj production directed by his assistant Abhishek Chaubey stars Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi along with Vidya.

Our source revealed, “Vishal and Abhishek have written the script of Ishkiya. The film has the same lingo that one saw (heard) in Vishal’s Omkara (2006). When the script was narrated to Vidya first, she had her apprehensions about her ability to be deliver the lines fluently in that chaste UP dialect. The actress’ mother tongue is South Indian and though she speaks Hindi well, she is not so comfortable speaking the rural UP lingo. Vishal and Vidya then mutually agreed upon having a special tutor for her to learn the lingo and achieve the perfect tone of delivering it. The film is going to shot in parts of eastern UP and in Delhi from next month. Vidya is expected to master her command over the dialect by then.”

One can remember Konkona Sen Sharma too having the same problem of delivering her lines in the required UP dialect in Omkara being a Bengali. Vishal had then tutored her himself for somedays and gave her confidence. Konkona went on to win a National Award for her role in Omkara.

I am a very romantic person: Soha Ali Khan

Starting her career with 2004 released flick Dil Mange More, Soha Ali Khan is still struggling to make her name count amongst the top actresses of tinsel town. Let’s try to peek into the personal life of this gorgeous actress.

Q. You don’t seem to be bothered by rumours?
A. That might stem from the fact that my family has been in the public light for many years now. Hence we very well know how some sections of the media, especially tabloid, functions and how to ignore them. Some smart people use such magazines for their own publicity by making provocative statements and then denying them later knowing very well that the public has already heard it. So, it doesn’t matter what others are talking about.

Q. Who is your favourite personal designer?
A. I don’t like anybody in particular. I sometimes even mix a Versace skirt with a streetside top. I will wear anything that catches my fancy. On the whole, I am a very casual person — mostly you will see me in jeans and kurtis. For the evening I prefer saris.

Q. Do you take advice from your mother and brother before signing a film?
A. Yes, I always take their view points before signing on any new project.

Q. How well do you jell with your brother Saif?
A. Just like other siblings, Bhai and I used to fight a lot, but nowadays since we hardly get time to meet each other, whenever we do we have a lot to catch up with. Though we try not to talk about movies, we end up discussing the same.

Q. Your take on Saif as an actor?
A. He is one great actor and has this uncanny ability where despite playing greyish and negative characters [Ek Haseena Thi, Omkara], he does not have the audience hating him.

Q. If given a chance, which of your mother’s films would you want to act in — if remade?
A. Personally, I don’t support remakes unless you can better the original. Making that clear, I would like to try my hands at Amma’s Mausam and Amar Prem.

Q. It looks like you are in complete awe of your mom?
A. You bet. She is such a great lady who has successfully handled both work and family. Besides this she is also actively involved in social welfare. She is also such a great dresser. Even now when we dress for a party I have to be doubly sure to dress as good as she dresses. Compared to her wardrobe mine is nothing. She has a great choice in clothes, bags, shoes, etc.

Q. The success of Rang De Basanti has changed your career graph. Has it not?
A. Absolutely. I am being offered a whole variety of roles which range from practical to interesting to downright outrageous.

Q. What do you mean by outrageous?
A. (Laughs) You media folks are always looking for some kind of controversy. What I meant by outrageous were the kind of roles which I would not be comfortable doing.

Q. What do you do in your spare time?
A. I just love to read anything — be it an autobiography or something interesting like Pulp Fiction (Fredrick Forsyth).

Q. Your relationship with your dad?
A. Dad and I share a similar nature. While Mom just snaps, Dad and I don’t lose our cool easily. I discuss almost everything with him — be it politics, sports, history, religion or just anything under the sun but films.

Q. Can you cook?
A. If you consider boiling, then I am a cook for I can make very good boiled eggs and pasta. Since I studied in England, I had to learn basic cooking like dal chaaval to fend for myself.

Q. What do your parents think of you?
A. My parents are very happy knowing that their daughter is very grounded and a smart person who knows what she wants. But being folks, they worry about me and would be much happier if I quit films and went back to my corporate job with Citibank.

Q. Are you a romantic person?
A. Yes, I am a very romantic person. Although there is no one currently with whom I can be romantic with.

Kangana Ranaut's bald act!

After a handful of actresses like Shabana Azmi, Nandita Das, Lisa Ray and Seema Biswas it's bold and beautiful Kangana Ranaut who is being touted to go bald for a movie.

According to the hottest scuttlebutt of B–town, a reputed production house down south has offered Kangana Rs 1 crore plus to get the bald look for a new Tamil action–packed thriller. Actually Kangana Ranaut 's first taste of success with a south Indian movie DHOOM DHAM has made her popular among the directors of South. So considering her mounting popularity down south the makers of this action thriller have readily offered her a lucrative amount provided she goes bald for some sequences in the film.

Though Kangana has not yet given her nod, but she is definitely considering giving it a try. After all such rare opportunities (with handsome offer and a meaty role in the film) don't fall in place at the same time always.

Has Priyanka moved from Akshay to Abhishek?

There was a time when Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar 'jodi' spelt success in each of their outings. All their films were successful at the box office until there were clear signals that Akshay won't be working with Priyanka again in future. While Akshay quickly moved on to Katrina Kaif and started delivering even bigger successes with her, Priyanka did get a jolt but recovered to work with Shah Rukh Khan [DON], Hrithik Roshan [KRISSH], Salman Khan [SALAAM-E-ISHQ].

However, the man with whom she went on to sign maximum number of films has been Abhishek Bachchan. After BLUFFMASTER which turned out to be a decent box office runner, Priyanka now has two movies with Abhishek lined up for release. These are DRONA and DOSTANA. Both the films would be releasing within six weeks of each other. While DRONA arrives on 2nd October, DOSTANA is confirmed for 14th November.

The two films are quite different from each other though. DRONA is a fantasy/mythological action thriller and has Priyanka playing Abhishek's bodyguard. Though there is a love angle to their coming together, the film, as per the makers, centers itself on the theme of 'one man's (Drona) spectacular voyage through the labyrinths of mystic myths and legendary legacies.'

DOSTANA is chilled out though by miles as it sees Abhishek and John Abraham getting into a hilarious one-on-one (pun intended) as they masquerade as gays with Priyanka being the center of attraction. A fun film that comes from the house of Karan Johar and is directed by debutant Tarun Mansukhani, DOSTANA would be third release of Abhishek this year (after SARKAR RAJ) where he features as a protagonist and sixth outing for Priyanka after LOVE STORY 2050, GOD TUSSI GREAT HO, CHAMKU, FASHION and DRONA. It would be John Abraham's first release of 2008 though after his DHAN DHANA DHAN GOAL in late 2007.

Coming back to Abhishek and Priyanka, one can expect them to be seen in many more films to come if DRONA and DOSTANA turn out to be twice the reason for celebrations for the two youngsters

Kareena Kapoor’s Yoga schedule goes for a toss

Kareena Kapoor has been daily practicing Yoga for last few years now. She has also often credited her ’size zero’ look to Power Yoga. But from the last few days and some weeks ahead it doing her daily dose of Yoga has become practically impossible for the actress.

Sources inform, “Kareena is presently in Ladakh shooting for Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots. She has for company Aamir Khan and Madhavan but not her regular Yoga companion, that’s her Yoga instructor Payal Gidwani. Whenever Kareena goes for an abroad shoot like she went in the last few months to Australia for Main Aur Mrs Khanna, London and San Francisco for Kambakht Ishq and Thailand for Golmaal Returns either Payal or another colleague of Payal’s went with Kareena to give her company for doing her daily yoga routine. Since she is alone there in the climate being extremely cold there and the air to being very thin her daily Yoga schedule has gone for a toss! But she intends to cover it up all once she is back in Mumbai. Generally her

Yoga schedule begins a warm up followed by Surya Namaskar variations. Then she does exercises for each of her body part and concluding it all with breathing exercises like Pranayam.”

“If one notices Kareena now she has put on a bit more weight and is not the ’size zero’ girl any more. She has begun to eat her favourite Thai and Chinese cuisines once again regularly. But at the same time she is also making sure she follows it up all with regular exercises.” the source concludes.

Geeta Basra Undergoes Surgery

In her pursuit to get the perfect body shape, Geeta Basra ended up damaging a part of it, albeit slightly, over the weekend gone by. During one of her routine evenings in a gym, she dropped a weight on her foot, hence resulting in a damaged bone.

“It was so awful. For a moment I just blanked out. I just didn’t know what hit me, pun intended”, says Geeta Basra who otherwise has kept a clean record when it comes to accidents, “I am such a globe trotter and still have considered myself to be accident-proof. And look at what has happened now!”

Trying to recover from the pain she has been feeling ever since she damaged her toe, Geeta has horror stories to tell about her experience during the mini-operation she went through.

“Can you believe it”, she exclaims, “I thought it would require normal procedures to fix the bone but I was shocked to see myself being carried away to an operation theater. I had a friend with me and was constantly enquiring if this was indeed required. Imagine my horror when I actually found myself in an operation theater with all the gadgetry and lights around. Thankfully it didn’t last long but for whatever duration it was on, it was hardly funny.”

With a bandaged toe, Geeta has been advised complete bed rest for at least a fortnight before she even starts walking around freely, let alone hitting the gym.

“All my plans for watching ‘Rock On’ have gone kaput now”, rues Geeta, “I couldn’t catch it in the fortnight gone by due to my other engagements and just when I was placing plans for this week, an accident had to happen. I guess it would be a little while from now before I start hanging out again.”

What made 1920 a success at box office?

1920 has clicked and quite a few detractors in the industry are left wondering about the reason behind the film’s success. After all the film had Vikram Bhatt tag to it, the name which had seen 10 consecutive flops to his name in last 6 years. The film only featured newcomers, who were neither star-children nor heavily hyped. Adnan Sami’s music hardly did wonders to the film’s pre-release hype while the Ramzan/Ganesh Chaturthi period was hardly considered to be conducive to a film’s theatrical run.

So what really worked in the film’s favor? One basic thing - Smart packaging!

Vikram Bhatt and company knew what they were offering - a horror thriller which relief on chills and spooky moments. This is what they capitalized on from Day one of the film’s promotion. The first thing they did right was to come up with a brilliantly designed coffee table book which was circulated amongst select media people and friends. The book pretty much declared the mood of the film and made people talking about what Vikram Bhatt had in the offering. Then began the promos which quickly moved on from song and dance routine to the ‘real’ stuff which very much showed the audience what 1920 was made of.

To begin with the promos started giving hints of the spooky feel that 1920 carried. However, as 10 days remained for the release of the film, the makers went full on with the promotion and released numerous promos that made it loud and clear that 1920 would be one scary film to watch in theaters. Background music, sound design, special effects, cutting edge frames - all of this came together in those few seconds which enticed audience enough to walk into the theaters and enjoy the spine chilling moments.

This is what happened as the film took a decent start at the box office. Good word of mouth took the case forward for this medium budget film and as the first week comes to an end today, the writing is clear on the wall that 1920 has succeeded at the box office. The content worked wonders yet again, just like PHOONK, MUMBAI MERI JAAN and ROCK ON in last few weeks, in spite of no stars to boast of

Magic in Smilie Suri’s life

Smilie Suri is a real softie at heart. When she heard about the abuse for a female dog, she immediately went ahead to offer her home and her heart to this cross between Chihuwawa and a stray dog. Comments Smilie, “when I went to pick her up, she simple cowered away and started whining. Poor baby was tortured. The owners had brought her for their kid who was least interested in her. And they had kept her locked in the balcony since past 4 months. She would cry all the day long.” Even once Smilie had brought her into her own home and shown to the vet for various skin problems, this dog would just sit in the corner shivering. “It took her more than a month to feel secure and now she plays with me and my other dog mumbo. I named her magic because it’s a magic that she is still alive, inspite of so much of abuse.”

Earlier too, Smilie had adopted a fox terrier and named him Mumbo. So what next Smilie? Do we expect a Mantra next?

Minissha is not a bikini girl in real liffe

Minissha likes to be 17. She played a 17 year old girl in her recent success Bachna Ae Haseeno and even in her forthcoming film Kidnap, she is enjoying enacting the role of a girl of the same age.

"However, apart from the age factor, there is absolutely nothing else common between the two characters that I portray on screen for the two films", says Minissha who has consistently impressed critics and audience alike with her performances in Yahaan, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd, Dus Kahaniyaan, Shaurya and very recently Bachna Ae Haseeno, "Sonia of Kidnap is so very different from Mahi of Bachna Ae Haseeno even though both are in their growing up years."

Revealing more about the contrasting parts that she has played in the two films, Minissha says, "In Bachna..., I was this sweet girl with moony eyes who is looking for togetherness in life from the first guy she falls in love with ever.

She is unable to ever forget her first love. On the other hand in Kidnap, my character is that of a hip girl who parties hard, is quite sassy and overall energetic. She never lets a dull moment around her."

Since she is in her early 20s, where does she see herself in real life? Is she the 'bindaas' Sonia from Kidnap who doesn't mind getting into a bikini once on beach?

Laughs Minissha, "In real life I am somewhere between Mahi and Sonia.

I am not that dreamy and demure or overtly outrageous. I am rather pragmatic in real life and know what is possible in real world and what's not. I am actually quite grounded to reality and that's the way I like things to be."

How easy or difficult then it is to portray something on screen which is not your real self?

"Of what I have learnt in 3 years of my professional career here in Bollywood, I understand that the whole point is about how you are perceived in the industry. I am liking the way I am experimenting with my roles and appearances", says Minissha.

Talking about her future plans, Minissha says on a parting note, "There is stuff in the pipeline for sure but at the moment, all my energy and focus is on Kidnap."

Can't handle my 'Sex Bomb’ image? Go to hell: Meghna Naidu

Q. One quality which is a must for your man?
A. Respect for me, my work and of course my parents.

Q. What if he reacts sharply to your tag of being a ‘Sex Bomb’?
A. He can go to hell! (Laughs) See, my guy would know that whatever I am doing is just acting onscreen and nothing more. Hence he would trust me implicitly.

Q. What would you prefer ? brains or brawn?
A. He should be intelligent, but not a nerd, otherwise he would talk stuff like nuclear physics, which would go over my head.

Q. Is a sense of humour a must?
A. That goes without saying for, after a hard day’s work when I meet my guy, he should be able to ease my tensions with his jokes.

Q. Would you allow him to flirt?
A. As long as it’s harmless flirting, it’s okay. Even I would make a comment if I find a hot guy. So, it’s okay as long as it’s within a limit.

Q. How important would calls and SMSes be in your relationships?
A. As oxygen is to life. I would call him 10 times a day and would text him ‘’ number of times. This way he will know that I remember him.

Q. How long would you wait to take your relationship to a new level (read: jump into his bed)?
A. At least a month. For only then you come to know the person’s true nature, as initially everybody puts his best foot forward.

Q. Do you think that metrosexual men are sissy?
A. No, of late most men take special care of their looks and it’s good. Unfortunately, there are still some men who don’t even bother looking at the mirror before stepping out.

Q.Where would you want to go for a passionate romantic getaway?
A. A very private and romantic place, where it’s just him and me, surrounded by beautiful nature.

Bollywood's hottest hunks who dared to bare

Salman Khan
It would not be fair to start with any other actor except Salman Khan. After all, he is the one who started it nearly two decades ago.

Even in his first few films like Baaghi, Suryavanshi and Nishchay, this gawky looking teenager didn't mind flaunting his body( though he wasn't really muscular and beefed-up then).Post that films like Veergati and Judwaa saw the emergence of the new and muscular Salman.

However, the turning point in his chest-flaunting career was the 'Oh Oh Jaane Jaana' song in Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya, which took the nation by storm and marked the arrival of Bollywood's first bare-chested hunk.

Post that, it became usual for Sallu to drop his shirt in every other film. The trend has not stopped and even his upcoming release Hello features Salman going bare-chested and shouting 'Bang Bang Bang'.

Saif Ali Khan
When he started out with films like Aashiq Awara and Parampara, many slotted Saif Ali Khan as the chocolate boy romantic hero. In fact, not many would have even believed that within a matter of few years, he would go on to become one of the leading hunks of tinsel town.

After a string of flops, Saif's career was going nowhere till Dil Chahta Hai happened and the rest as they say is history. Soon, from being cute Saif was termed as uber cool. However Saif sprung yet another surprise when he went bare-chested in the title track of Salaam Namaste.

Suddenly from being cute to being cool, Saif was now considered HOT. The 'Chhote Nawab' worked out even harder and films like Race and Tashan have seen him flaunting his chiseled body even as the girls in the audience go gaga. This boy has surely grown into a Man or should we say Hunk.

Shah Rukh Khan
Shah Rukh is known to be a fighter; After all, how else do you explain someone who is above 40 years going all out and acquiring 6 pack abs at his son's behest.

While many thought it was quite a Herculean task, SRK proved them wrong and as soon as the first promos of the 'Dard-e-Disco' song were unveiled, Bollywood had found its middle-aged bare-chested hunk.

Girls couldn't get enough of seeing their favorite superstar in this new toned avatar and soon every actor worth his salt was seen flocking to the nearest gym. Om Shanti Om turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters and 'Dard-e-Disco' & SRK's 6-pack abs surely had a major contribution in that.

Hrithik Roshan
The new millennium gave us a new star- Hrithik Roshan. With a launch pad like Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Hrithik couldn't have asked for more. He was appreciated for his looks, his acting, his dancing, and even his amazing physique.

The next few films like Fiza, Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage saw a beefed up Hrithik flaunting his biceps and chest muscles to the maximum. He even went bare-chested in the Rajshri dud Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon but didn't find too many takers.

However with changing times, Duggu too went in for the well-toned and chiseled look and when the first look of Dhoom 2 was unveiled, all eyes were fixed only on Hrithik flaunting his picture perfect 6-pack abs. This actor had surely arrived as one of the hottest Bollywood hunks in a real big way.

Even recently in the period drama Jodhaa Akbar, Hrithik flaunted his physique in that stupendous fight sequence with a violent elephant. At the end of it, even the poor elephant fell for his charm.

John Abraham
People often say, "Models cant act" However one thing, which most models have, is a well-toned and chiseled body. John Abraham was no exception. This former Grasim Mr. India winner made a sensational debut with Jism opposite Bipasha Basu.

In his first film itself, John displayed his torso with élan and had the girls drooling over his physique. John kept working on his acting and physique simultaneously and the results were there for all to see.

Like Salman Khan, most of John's films like Paap, Elaan, Garam Masala, Zinda featured him in a bare-chested shot. His recent release No Smoking may not have found many takers but who can forget that scene in which John coolly stands bare-chested in front of a mirror and lights up a ciggie.

However, the talk of the town is the physique that the hunk has acquired for his forthcoming film Dostana. The first promos showed a beefed up, bare-chested John emerging out of the beach and you cant help but notice the chiseled V-shaped torso and those picture-perfect abs.

This hunk surely has been an inspiration for many young guys to hit the gym.

Ranbir Kapoor
Many actors seem to have certain inhibitions about dropping their shirt and going bare-chested. However new kid on the block Ranbir Kapoor didn't have any hesitation in not just going bare-chested but even dropping his towel in his debut film Saawariya

. In spite of the famous towel dropping shot facing the brunt of the censors, Ranbir with his boy-next door looks, six-pack abs became the latest pin-up boy in Bollywood, What's more, the Kapoor dude even repeated his bare-chested act in his latest flick Bachna Ae Haseeno as he serenades lady love Deepika Padukone to the soulful tunes of 'Khuda Jaane'.

This young lad indeed has it all, good looks, amazing acting talent and of course a lean and chiseled physique.

Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar has always believed in sporting a lean and mean look rather than a muscular look. What's more, the actor himself has gone on record saying that its sports like running and martial arts that he follows to keep fit, rather than hitting the gym and lifting weights.

The fact that he doesn't have a really beefed up built like some of his contemporaries, has not deterred Akki from dropping his shirt. In fact, in his first few films like Saugandh and Khiladi, Akki has given bare-chested shots. He was quite thin then.

By the time Main Khiladi Tu Anadi released, Akshay had a decent athletic frame and girls immediately took a liking to this handsome looking hunk.

In recent times, his 'Dil Samandar' song along with John in Garam Masala surely sent the temperatures soaring and even in his forthcoming film Blue, we may get to see a bare-chested Akki doing some dare devil underwater stunts.

A few weeks back, Akki set the ramp on fire as he displayed his chiseled torso while modeling for Levi's 501 brand of jeans. Must say looking hot and sexy is surely in Akshay's genes.

Katrina and Shah Rukh Khan in a Yash Raj film?

Katrina Kaif seems to be riding the crest of a bright new wave of success. The things have been happening to her career within just a matter of time, sometimes surrounding like a fairytale coming true.

She has given six blockbusters back to back in the recent times and as a result she has been signing some of the very best films.

The actress seems to have her kitty full of projects and directors and actors are just dying to work with her.

If the latest hearsay is something to go by then the actress has apparently bagged the lead role in a film which will be directed by the eternal romantic filmmaker of the Indian silver screen, Yash Chopra.

The celebrated director is going to make a comeback to movies after a long gap of four years. The film will have The Badshah, Shah Rukh Khan and The Megastar, Amitabh Bachchan leading the way. Can Kat ask for anything better?

Sorry, but there is no sex in Sensex: Tanushree

One catches Tanushree Dutta in a chirpy mood as she talks about her latest arrival Saas Bahu Aur Sensex. She exclaims that this film directed by Shona Urvashi may end up disappointing a few. Reason being that from a title comprising of the word 'Sensex', some may expect a bit of sex element in the film as well.

"I am considered to be a sex symbol and I take pride in the fact that audience does expect me to be seen in particular kind of roles where I bring on the oomph.

However, I am sorry to say that Saas Bahu Aur Sensex doesn't have any sex in it even though the word 'sex' does come into picture", winks Tanushree who came with quite a bang with films like Aashiq Banaya Aapne and Chocolate.

"However, I am quite a different individual in Saas Bahu Aur Sensex and truly enjoyed being a part of this cinema," says Tanushree who has for the first time worked with a woman director, Shona Urvashi, in the film.

"From the entire look to make up to general appearance, I have gone through a change. Unlike majority of my films which have featured me as an 'ultra oomphy' Diva-ish kind of a character, Saas Bahu Aur Sensex has me in a contrasting avatar altogether."

"It was fun to be playing someone who you could meet while walking on a street rather than someone who is larger than life,” says Tanushree.

She also reveals that the humor in this latest film of hers is on the same lines as that of Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na.

"I play a young girl who belongs to an Indian metro and share a normal relationship with her mother (played by Kirron Kher). The best part about the film is that neither is it women-centric, nor does it get its drive from a hero-heroine angle per se."

Confident that the film would strike gold with the urban audience, Tanushree declares, "Saas Bahu Aur Sensex is for those who want to watch something that isn't run of the mill.

It is meant for an urban audience and its light hearted narrative would ensure that college students as well as adults get an ample share of laugh."

Salman Khan is the only star who can come, fart on the screen

Sushant Singh tells Jyothi Venkatesh that Salman Khan is the only star who can come, fart on the screen and get away with it.

Q. How would you describe your role in Hulla?
A. My role as Raj Shiv Puri in Hulla is that of a very simple dal roti stock broker in a medium sized local dealing firm. Raj is aggressive, innovative and also pro active, while Kartikadevi Rane plays my good natured, even tempered wife, whom tolerates all my protestations and complaints about the seemingly trivial problem with a smile. I shared a good chemistry on screen with Kartika, who had earlier acted in the serial Hum Pardesi Ho Gaye with Ashish Chowdhary and Perizaad Zorabian.

Q. What is Hulla about?
A. Hulla is basically about Raj’s attempts to put an end to a simple problem at his residence- of the night watchman whistling in his building compound at night, leading to his not getting sleep at all. His cajoling, protestations and complaint even to the police lead to nothing and the flippant attitude of the people around him to his problem, coupled with his sleep- deprivation gradually unhinges him.

Q. What appealed to you about the film that you decided to take it up?
A. To tell the truth, considering the fact that real stories about real people rarely get told these days in Indian cinema in spite of the richness of diversity in India’s city life, I found that Hulla is an attempt to fill that gap and yet maintain a universal accessibility through concerns, characters and tone. As director Jaideep Varma said, the contemporary sensibility of the film should be relatable anywhere in the world, whether it is Mumbai or for that matter Manhattan.

Q. Isn’t the role quite in contrast to your role as a villain in Mukhbir?
A. Raj in Hulla is dynamically different from that of Pasha in Mukhbir. There was a kind of excitement in the character of the shooter Pasha, who had the backdrop of the underworld of Hyderabad. Mani Shankar had done the research on his subject for two years. More than my role, I liked the story of Mukhbir. Mani gave me the bound script. It took me one hour to listen to it. You start visualizing when you read an interesting script.

Q. How tough was it to play the complex character of Pasha in Mukhbir?
A. There was absolutely no reference point to my character in Mukhbir, which was much more mature than my character in Mani Shankar’s December 16. The tone of my character was set by showing me massaging the sexy widowed daughter of the mukhya.

Q. Which are your forthcoming films?
A. I have up my sleeves films like Sunando’s Idiot Box, Sanjay Chauhan’s Lahore, T.K. Rajeev Kumar’s Free Kick, Vincent Lewis’s Shout, Vinay Shukla’s Mirch and last but not the least Ramesh Katkar’s Toss.

Q. What is your role in Idiot Box?
A. In Idiot Box, I play the role of the creative head of a TV production house -Shubrojeet Chakraborty, who thinks that he is very smart but apni chaalakhi mein ulajh jaata hain. Hrishitaa Bhatt plays my wife who hates TV. Everything about TV is idiotic but still we sit and surf channels which have become part of our lives. It is an out and out hilarious film in which Jyoti Gaba plays the character of Anekta Kapoor which is a spoof on Ekta Kapoor.

Q. What is your role in Lahore?
A.I play the positive role of a kick boxer in Lahore. To get into the skin of my character in Lahore, I trained in kick boxing for three months. In Lahore, my co-actors are Vikas Khatkar, Shradha Nigam, Shradha Das, Mukesh Rishi and Farouque Shaikh.

Q. Are you playing the role of a kick boxer in Free Kick too?
A. Free Kick belongs to an entirely different genre and is about medicine mafia and how the common man is trapped in the vicious medicine system. Rajeev Kumar has also directed the Govinda starrer Chal Chala Chal produced by Jhamu Sugandh and Priyadarshan.

Q. Is Shout a horror film?
A. Shout directed by Vincent Lewis isn’t a horror film, but a supernatural thriller with Sayali Bhagat and I in the main lead and Ashish Vidyarthi and Seema Biswas as our co-stars.

Q. What is Mirch about?
A. All that I can say is that I have an interesting role in Mirch directed by Vinay Shukla, which is an ensemble film with Ranveer Sheorey and Konkana Sen Sharma.

Q. Are you playing a villain in Toss?
A. Toss is a pure thriller. What is interesting about Toss is that all the actors are playing negative roles in it though Mahesh Manjrekar and I play the main villains. The film has Ashmit Patel, Prashant Raj, VJ Ranvijay, Aarti Chhabria and two new actresses.

Q. What irks you about the film industry?
A.My grouse is that no producer approaches talented actors like me or Om Puri with a three film package deal for 40 crores and no one questions the stars who appear in a film like Tahan which flops at the box office. The tragedy today is that stardom does not require acting. Today no one goes to see Salman Khan thinking he would act fabulously. You only go to see his style or personality. Salman is the only one who can come on screen, fart and get away with it.

Q. Does it mean that you regret not being paid in crores like Salman Khan or SRK?
A. I know for fact that today I can demand only a certain price because the producers know that though I can invest a film with my talent, I cannot influence a distributor in any territory because of my popularity.

Q. How insecure are you as an actor in spite of being talented?
A. Insecurity is a part of any actor’s life. I try not to be insecure. After Satya, I do not have even a single super hit to my credit.

Q. How would you evaluate your growth as an actor?
A. I made my debut way back in 1996 with Dr Jabbar Patel’s Dr Ambedkar, in which I had two scenes as Ambedkar’s room-mate Asnodkar from London. I have to my credit 38 released films including Hulla. I am fortunate to have grown up slowly and steadily in the film industry. I am glad that my directors like Ram Gopal Varma, Rajkumar Santoshi, Mani Shankar etc have repeated me in their films. I have realized that if you are a good actor, no director would like to misuse your talent in the film industry.

Q. Why did you quit acting in TV after Viruddh?
A. After acting in two serials- Dhadkan and Viruddh, I quit TV because I realized that working hours burn you out on TV. You have to strike the right balance between what you get per day and what you have to do one day on TV. The plus point about TV is that today whether you are an actor or a technician, in one year you can buy a flat of one crore just by working in TV serials.

Q. Which according to you are your five memorable films?
A. I think I am fortunate that I can count films like Satya, Jungle, Bhagat Singh, 16 December and Sehar as my five best films till date as an actor. I was very disappointed when my films like Sehar and Bhagat Singh did not click at the box office, though my performance was appreciated by both the critics as well as the audience.

My Man should be: Meghna Naidu

Q.Would you allow him to flirt?

Q. Where would you want to go for a passionate romantic getaway?
A. A very private and romantic place, where it’s just him and me, surrounded by beautiful nature.

Sherlyn Chopra trusts Sardars more; refuses security in Chandigarh

After beginning her first promotional tour for her new album ‘Dard-e-Sherlyn’ and charming fans at Kolkata and Hyderabad, the ‘outrageous’ singer and actress Sherlyn Chopra made an appearance at Club Voodoo in Chandigarh this week.

But what surprised everyone is that Sherlyn who had a tight security of eight bouncers besides the stage and four civil-dress security men in the audience in Kolkata as well as Hyderabad, refused any in Chandigarh.

“Sherlyn told me she refused security as she felt safe in the company of robust Sardars whom she considers very gentlemanly people,” informed her publicist Dale Bhagwagar. “She also admires Sardars as she believes they have the best physiques in our country,” he added.

It can be recalled that Sherlyn’s show organisers had panicked earlier about the bold and flamboyant girl wearing her bikini top along with her golden hot pants that she has famously worn in the new superhit video of her remix album. Apart from expecting trouble from unruly crowds due to the skimpy attire, the organisers had felt it was very risky for her to wear the bikini top as it is actually studded with a couple of real diamonds on the sides.

When asked about Sherlyn’s fixation with bikinis, Bhagwagar retorted, “If Sherlyn had her way, she would even die wearing a bikini”.

Following Calcutta, Hyderabad and Chandigarh, Sherlyn will continue her tour with appearances at Mumbai, Delhi, Pune and Vizag.

After the runaway success of her first album ‘Outrageous’ on T-Series, Sherlyn emerged a diva, out to make men go weak in their knees. The second album ‘Dard-e-Sherlyn’ is her tribute to the original dreamgirl Hema Malini and takes off from her 1976 hit song “Mujhe dard rehta hai, dil mein dard rehta hai…” from the film ‘Dus Numbri’. But the “Dard-e-Sherlyn” video has already attracted 19 cuts from the Censor Board and also invited the ire of Hema Malini. The new remix video is set to hit our TV screens next week.

The firebrand is heavily promoting her two remixes of the “Dard-e-Sherlyn” title track by DJs Akbar Sami and Pramz, while donning her controversial trademark diamond-studded bikini top for all her appearances.

You don’t ask questions when Rajkumar Santoshi calls: Upen Patel

Upen Patel has just returned from a mini schedule of AJAB PREM KI GHAZAB KAHANI from Ooty. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Ramesh Taurani of TIPS, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor in the lead along with Katrina Kaif. However, the surprise package is touted to be Upen Patel who has a special appearance in the film.

“So what if it is a special appearance”, says Upen who continues to have big film makers back him ever since Abbas Mustan launched him in 36 CHINA TOWN, “When someone of the stature of Rajkumar Santoshi calls, you neither ask question nor carry any doubts. You just report to work. This is what happened when he said that he wanted me to be cast in the film.”

Though he refuses to divulge about his role in the film, Upen admits that Santoshi’s knack of extracting powerhouse performances from his actors is what prompted him to go for the role. “I could rattle down the list of each of his films so far and how every film has at least one actor stand out due to a great performance. But then we all know his films and how he works for his actors.”

He refuses to bite the bait when asked if he, Ranbir and Karrina form a part of a conventional love triangle in AJAB PREM KI GHAZAB KAHANI. Choosing to bypass the question, he only replies, “I am looking at enhancing my skills while shooting for the film. I am working harder on my Hindi diction and want to make sure that the performance gets noticed.”

Majority of critics have been noticing the rise of the young man who began with two successful films - 36 CHINA TOWN and NAMASTEY LONDON - before SHAKALAKA BOOM BOOM proved to be a setback. However, he returned with a successful ONE TWO THREE even though he had minimal part to play in the film. A few weeks back when MONEY HAI TO HONEY HAI released and bombed, he was one of the few people in the film who were appreciated for their comic timing.

“Well, there has been an increase in acceptance over the period of time. I am sure I would win the balance critics as well over a period of time”, quips Upen.

President Bush’s gift to the team of Horn Ok Please!

We can certainly call it a gift from President George Bush to the entire team of Abdul Samee Siddiqui’s forthcoming film Horn Ok Pleassss…. Some time back they had gone to Dubai for a shooting schedule and were shooting non-stop for days together. Naturally everybody was tired and in need of a break. On the contrary, director/co-producer Rakesh Sarang wanted to finish the schedule as quickly as possible.

But looks like that luck was with others. George Bush came to visit the City of Gold and for security reasons, city came to a stand still. Shooting had to be cancelled and this is when Rakesh Sarang decided to humor his cast and crew. Comments Muzzamil, “he would turn down all our requests for a break, but suddenly he came to us and said that there is no shooting for the day. We were surprised, but didn’t wan tot look the gift horse in the mouth. So everybody jumped at this offer and then he even treated us all to an excellent lunch. The menu was selected by Rakesh personally and he made sure everyone is having good time.” It was later that everybody realized the true reason behind this sudden off, but who cares. As long as it was entertaining and fun.

'I am doing a comedy after a very long time'

At 73, the veteran director Shyam Benegal is one of the most enthusiastic people around. His new film, Welcome To Sajjanpur is ready for release this Friday, and the director clearly loves talking about it.

But when Patcy N went to meet him, the great director was running late. He needed to wrap up this interview quickly, as he had to be home in time to pick up his wife, and take her to watch the films, Tahaan and A Wednesday, back-to-back.

Benegal still squeezed in time to talk about Welcome to Sajjanpur, as well as his favourite films and directors these days.

Is it true that you have an item number in Welcome To Sajjanpur?

I have songs and dances. You can call them item numbers if you like but they are not. They are a part of the fabric of the movie.

After Mandi, this will be your second comedy. How come a comedy at this stage? Did you want a break after the seriousness of Bose? What is the film about?

This is not my second comedy but the third. First, there was Charandas Chor (1974), then Mandi (1982) and now, Welcome to Sajjanpur.

I am doing a comedy after a long time. There has been comic situations in most of my films but this is the first film where I have comedy all the way.

I had a good subject for a comedy, that's why I am doing one. Also, it's a romantic comedy, so that's a nice combination. It also has satire. It has politics and many sub-angles.

Welcome to Sajjanpur is a story set in today's Indian village. A village, which is remote but not isolated. It is connected by way of cell phones and television.

But the remoteness is emphasised because of the low level of literacy, like in most parts of India. So the educated people in that village can make a living as a letter-writer.

This is the basis of the film as well as the comedy in the film.

"Yes, I have joined the bikini bandwagon" - Minissha Lamba

A much coy Minissha Lamba is going through a massive image makeover. In her soon-to-be-released Kidnap, she would be donning a bikini which certainly comes as a surprise to those who have been following her career in films like Yahaan, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd, Shaurya and Bachna Ae Haseeno.

"Well, it is shocking for quite a few people but if you ask me, I am really enjoying it all", says Minissha who has seen an eventful 2008 so far, "Seriously, I felt beautiful when I donned the bikini for Kidnap. And though people do ask me how comfortable I was with the thought of wearing a bikini, let me tell you that I was more focused on getting my body into the right shape than worrying about anything else."

Talking about her decision to join the bikini bandwagon, Minissha admits, "Yes, I have joined the bikini bandwagon. After all, not many girls are doing it even today, isn't it? In any case when you see Kidnap, you would realize that the makeover isn't for the sake of it. This was meant to be a part of the character and I was duly convinced that donning a bikini was indeed an integral part of the script."

While industry and cine-goers are definitely noticing this makeover, what were the kind of reactions that she got from people close to her - read friends and family? "We are not grown up in a conservative household and together, we watch a lot of Hollywood films", discloses Minissha, "Something like a bikini is hardly a culture shock since as a family, we are quite modern in our outlook and very progressive. In any case, everyone today understands that at the end of the day, it is just a part that you are playing for a film. The buck stops there."

By wearing a bikini for Kidnap, Minissha now joins the gang of young women who have willingly agreed to get into the costume for a Sanjay Gadhvi film. After Esha Deol (Dhoom) and Bipasha Basu (Dhoom 2), she is the new bikini girl for Gadhvi.

"And I am so very proud of that", exclaims Minissha, "When Sanjay told me that I had to go through this image change in Kidnap, I was game for it. I feel it was great to explore a new side of me. Going by the reaction that I am getting from people, I guess the experiment has indeed paid off."

Bollywood Actor Dev Anand brings love to Nepalese

"Bollywood actor Dev Anand has made great contributions to strengthen the relations existing at the people to people level by making some very popular films in Nepal. His film helped introduce Nepal's image in India. For the last four decades, Dev Anand's passion to visit Nepal has continued. Even at this stage, he came to Nepal to unveil his autobiography Romancing With Life. Although he is 85, Dev Anand still has the same charisma, and his smile still has the same power to steal hearts".said Spotlight magazine in Kathmandu.

It is always a pleasure watching Dev Ananda's movie and his acting. Dev Ananda's enthusiasm, passion for acting, and for working for the cause of beauty has always impressed me. I am not just praising Dev Ananda. It is a great quality to have an actor like Dev Ananda. His commitment, dedication and tireless efforts help movies and our hearts. Truly admirable.

"Dev Anand's films are best known for their successful songs. Most of his films are an expression of his world view and have dealt with socially relevant subjects. He always emphasises this in his interviews. He thinks that his films represent his personal points of view," according to Wikipedia.

Dev Ananda was born in Punjab. His film was Hum Ek Hain (1946). Dev was offered his first big break by Ashok Kumar.

Dev Ananda said in Kathmandu. "The way I have seen Nepal, most of you have not. It is a very beautiful country and we have many cultural and religious commonalities. I've traveled the world. Mark my words, no place in this entire universe is as beautiful as your country. Even in Switzerland, many things are man-made. Nepal is god-gifted. I appeal to all to go to Nepal, go to the high mountains. They're tremendous. That's Nepal to me."

Dev Anand is making a lot of difference in Nepalese hearts. We people certainly deserve better music and arts. We have beautiful art and music with abundant natural heart.

A Local artist Sanu Thapa said to me in Kathmandu "I am deeply concerned that we might have to develop our arts and dance along with music like Dev Ananda's acting. The old movies in Nepal that we have are perfectly fine and only needed development on music progress and emancipation. There is no need to destroy our old arts and dance. Indians and Nepalese dance and music have lasted for hundreds of years, and will continue for more times to come for the future generations," she said.

When I watch his wonderful acting it is certainly a reflection of all my emotions. His skills in creative acting is advanced. Dev Ananda become a world class actor now. That is something I aspire to as a poet. Dev Ananda's has evolved as a modernist, beautiful artist, emancipated actor, and purpose in his life.

I just hope the arts schools in Nepal develop as institutions like in India based on reality. Of course, every individual is responsible for new actions and ideas for music and arts. Everyone of us must follow the path as taught to us by our arts, culture, drama and our dance. Our arts and music are the basis on which we must live our lives. If this is not the case then our society, civilization would never have existed. If our society respects artists and place them in a respectable position them our arts will have true meaning. No arts, movie or music can survive by relegating artists to second class or subservient status as some societies tend to do.

To me, for all of Dev Ananda's beauty his isthe best acting in the world. Dev Ananda wants our way of life. If Dev Ananda and I join hands together, we can make a big difference in our arts world.

Priyanka Chopra performs with 'Son Of a Bitch'

Bollywood is known to be the 'Masala Industry' for nothing. The reason being this is one place whereby you can find millions of masala.

After having tasted 'videsi' tadka like, the latest one being Snoop Dogg in Singh Is Kinng, Bollywood is all set to say hello to an underground club called…hold your breath… 'SoB' (son of a bitch) in Goldie Behl's much anticipated venture Drona.

The song 'Oopcha' (whatever that means) which features none other than the sexy Priyanka Chopra, also features 'SoB'.

For starters, 'SoB' are a troupe from New Jersey and are known to perform at all the celebrity do in New Jersey.

News has it that Goldie Behl was so tad impressed with these guys that he actually brought them from New Jersey to Mumbai! And for those who have seen the guys performing simply swear by their blessedly agile bodies!

Speaking about his choice of the boys, Goldie said, "When I saw these boys perform at a high profile club in New Jersey, I was completely blown away. These guys were really good.

From there on, we initiated to get these guys down to Mumbai and start rehearsals for the song and it hardly took them two days of practice to get into the groove of the music and perform to their best take after take".

But there was something exceptional done by the boys that touched Goldie the most. Says Goldie, "What was really special was that after we finished shooting, they actually performed the entire song for all of us, at one go as a thanks giving gesture".

Wonder when Bollywood will be touched by such professionalism!

There is no cold war going on with Katrina Kaif

Malaika and Arbaaz's little son Arhaan seems to have taken after his Chachu Salman. The 4-year old boy has quite a crush on Katrina Kaif.

Far from sharing cold vibes with her brother-in-law Salman Khan's friend Katrina, Malaika Arora actually has a very close and indelible bonding with the boxoffice's wunder-babe.

"My 4-year old son Arhaan has the most incurable crush on Katrina. Whenever she's around I become completely unimportant to my son. It's a family joke…that Arhaan is smitten by Katrina. Every time Katrina and I speak she wants to know where Arhaan is so she could take him out."

Not just Katrina, Kareena too is a favourite with Arhaan. "When Arbaaz and I visited Kareena's location in Hollywood last month Arhaan became a total lamb. I ceased to exist. Everything was about Kareena only.

And I was shocked when my boy who gives me a hard time feeding him would ask for everything that Kareena ordered at restaurants and eat quietly without taking his eyes off Kareena."

So what are these stories about Malaika's cold war with Katrina?

Sighs Malaika, "There's absolutely nothing to this talk of my cold war with Katrina. I've no space or time for having these kinds of issues with people. I feel life is too precious for these kinds of run-ins.

It was written that I didn't attend Katrina's birthday. But I was shooting for my reality show and I couldn't make it. Is that a crime? Are there laws against skipping a family gathering because I was working?

It was said I didn't go to Katrina's birthday because I couldn't get along with her. Bullshit! And now we're supposed to have shared cold vibes with Katrina and Salman's sister birthday party. Why would I spoil Arpita's party by behaving like such a partypooper? "

Malaika says she's a total family woman. "These are very upsetting rumours because it involves the entire family. I'm such a family person. I'd drop anything for family. Katrina isn't someone I hang around with every day or go out with for coffees and lunches.

But she's part of our family and I completely respect her presence. But no, she isn't part of my close friends' circle. Both of us come from decent families. My parents would slap me if I misbehaved with anyone, least of all Katrina who's part of our family.

Sighing deeply Malaika says, "No one from Arbaaz's side or my own side of the family can accuse me of behaving highhandedly or aloof. I go out of my way for family. My mother would kick my ass if I behaved like a prima donna. Someone is obviously getting a lot of pleasure by spreading these rumours."

Is it someone from the Khan family? "I wouldn't know. But whoever it is, I hope he or she is having a good time."
