Amitabh Bachchan’s extended holiday in Singapore has started to give filmmakers sleepless nights. Now, a number of them have started visiting Big B in Singapore as they want to know when he’ll be back to honour his film commitments. AB is staying by the side of his ‘dear friend’ Amar Singh, after the politico underwent an operation.”There has been a steady inflow of those producers and directors who wish to work with me into Singapore.
They are unable to understand why I have stayed back in Singapore for such a long time. Many have been asking questions. Many have been somewhat cynical. Others just plain funny,” writes Amitabh on his blog.Amitabh adds about the buzz on his absence: “R. Balki (the director of Cheeni Kum and Paa) was convinced that my stay was a pretense! He believed that Ram Gopal Varma had quietly sneaked in to the city and had completed making an entire film about me in the environs of the hospital!
Troubled by this rumour, RGV actually came to Singapore this morning just to check who his namesake is who wants to employ me without his tacit approval! But jokes apart, RGV is in town not on some ‘mission impossible’ but to discuss the promotion and release formalities for our film Rann – The New(s) Battle,” he writes. The world sure seems to be going crazy wanting to know when Big B will be back.
It hardly comes as a surprise. Bollywood action star Akshay Kumar has impressed Hollywood action director James Bomalick who has worked on flicks like The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift. The action man, who has worked with Akki in his forthcoming film – Blue, is bowled over by his passion and enthusiasm for action.
In fact, the Die Hard 4 stunt master was amazed to see Akshay’s intent and hunger for more and tougher action scenes. What impressed him most was Akshay’s dedication to perform action scenes. Akki took a lot of interest in knowing details about the action scenes and how he could make it safe for unit members rather than himself. It’s believed that James was surprised to see Akshay’s confidence in doing some of the stunts that no lead actors would attempt otherwise. Bomalick’s super impressive filmography includes movies like Mr and Mrs Smith and Mummy 3: The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
Dulha Mil Gaya starring, Shah Rukh Khan, Fardeen Khan, Johny Lever and Tara Sharma had been delayed for a while now but will finally see the light of day on November 13th. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, Dulha Mil Gaya had its share of controversies. Shah Rukh who has a cameo in the film was under the impression that he had to shoot for just 8 days but went on to shoot for more than a month. Vivek wanted to take advantage of King Khan’s appearance in the film but it seems now that both have sorted their differences out.
Khan has the special appearance through a lengthy song sequence and the movie was extensively shot in Trinidad and Tobago. But even before the release of the film, insiders speak of the movie’s sequel, ‘Dulhe Ka Divorce’. “Vivek’s over the moon that the movie’s finally rolling, with the type of financial crisis he was going through, who thought this day would come. He’s already thought of the sequel but that only depends on how this film fares. Let’s hope this wedding is worth attending!
