a team," Amitabh said on Zee News' celebrity chat show Kahiye Janab to be aired on Saturday.
Amitabh sent a congratulatory SMS to skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni for his Padma Shri and didn't get a response. But he says he holds no grudge against the cricket star. "He must have been busy, there's no need to make an issue out of this." The sexagenarian otherwise makes for an avid viewer of the IPL and says he watches "almost all the matches".

Female Boxers Wanted: A thrilling action sequence is being canned in Bangkok by action director Vijayan and his team for Boney Kapoor’s Wanted. The sequence involves hundreds of spectators watching a brutal fight between female Thai boxers. This scene also has southern star Prakash Raj and is being shot at an indoor stadium. The Salman starrer film will release in early July.

He returned from Singapore earlier this week but instead of enjoying the summer vacations with his family, Akshay has started work on Vipul Shah’s Action Replay in Karjat.Says a source close to Akshay, “One would expect Akshay to take a break on his return from Singapore where he was shooting De Dhana Dhan but the dedicated, workaholic actor has started shooting for Vipul Shah’s Action Replay already, even as Aishwarya Rai is at the Cannes Film Festival. He is staying at Karjat because traveling to and fro all the time is inconvenient. The shooting will continue till mid-June. Ash will join them when she returns from Cannes. In June, he will be attending the IIFAs with his family as well. He will also finish his small commitments such as promo songs of De Dhana Dhan during that month.”
There was confusion regarding his arrest for the alleged ‘obscene’ act at the Lakme Fashion Week where his wife Twinkle unbuttoned his jeans at the Levi’s show. Some reports said that he was arrested, while some said he was not arrested even though he went to the police station. Our source clarifies, “Like any law abiding citizen, Akshay went to the police station and completed some formalities because that is what one has to do when a complaint is filed against them. Akshay didn’t do anything wrong so he didn’t pay a fine and was not arrested.”

Vashu postpones 'Kal Kissne Dekha'

There's a dramatic twist in the producers/distributors versus multiplexes tale. Vashu Bhagnani's film KAL KISSNE DEKHA, which was slated for release on 29th May, has been shifted ahead, to some time in June. The release date is uncertain, as of now.Vashu had decided to release the film in single screens and standalone multiplexes the coming Friday [29th May], standing by the directive issued by his association. But there were rumours throughout the week that Vashu had decided "to break the unity" by releasing the film at the national chain of multiplexes.
In fact, there was talk that the national chain of multiplexes were trying hard to convince Vashu to release the film in their properties, in view of the fact that KAL KISSNE DEKHA happens to be Vashu's son Jakky Bhagnani's film.
But Vashu has decided to put an end to all controversies and postpone the film, till the issue with multiplexes is sorted out. When this writer spoke to Vashu on Saturday afternoon [23rd May], the prolific producer confirmed the development, "Yes, KAL KISSNE DEKHA is not arriving on 29th May. I've decided to release the film after 2 or 3 weeks. I just hope that a solution comes out in a couple of days."
Vashu has spent a fortune publicising the film and now that the film has been shifted ahead, Vashu will have to spend an additional amount to keep the promotion in the same gear.

A leading Hollywood studio is looking at remaking one of its popular films of 2009 in Hindi, for which it is taking a Bollywood producer’s help, and in which top actresses like Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Asin and Sonam Kapoor are being considered for the two leading roles.The Hollywood film under consideration is the romantic comedy of this year — Bride Wars, starring Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson. In its official Bollywood remake, the film will be one big fat Punjabi wedding with plenty of colour, song and dance, drama, fireworks, the whole nine yards.
Shrishti Behl — director Goldie’s sister, who produced Drona last year, is the Bollywood filmmaker contacted to work on this project. Confirming her participation, Shristi said, “The days of plagiarism are over. Official remakes are the way to go. And Bride Wars lends itself beautifully to an Indian adaptation.”
That it does, but there is likely to be a war among the six top contenders for the two roles in this film. The Hollywood studio, unmindful of the fact that these are the biggest names in Bollywood, is going to conduct a test look to pick their two actresses. Its worldwide production head Stanford Pinatch, talking to BT, said, “We’re trying to produce local-language films all over the world. We’re using the synergy between our distribution operations in all of these territories and tying up with the local production division. There is a shift in the market towards local content. It validates what we’re trying to achieve with these projects.”
Bride Wars, a regular chick flick if there was one, is about a good friendship between two women that goes dangerously bad. And, it will be interesting to see if real life good friends in Bollywood team up for the Hindi remake or the permutations and combinations throw up other alternatives.
The twosomes that come to mind are Katrina and Kareena; Priyanka and Kareena (Shahid Kapoor’s past and present loves, respectively); Asin and Katrina (Salman’s lady love and, well, his co-star who’s currently linked with him); and, Sonam and Deepika (in whose life the common factor is Ranbir Kapoor).
