Katrina doesn't mind Zarine's presence in Salman's life

Now there has been a lot of talk about how Sallu is busy promoting Zarine, the heroine of 'Veer' and the look alike of his girl friend Katrina Kaif these days. She's been his arm candy at public places.

Many are surprised and have even wondered if Zarine plans to replace Kat in Sallu's life.

Strangely Katrina herself doesn't seem to mind this at all.

She's simply joked about it, "She is so sweet and I helped her with her make-up during her screen test. She is a lovely girl and I hope she does very well. Although I do not think she looks like me. But if Salman misses me and wants to work with girls who look like me, that is so sweet."

This sounds more like a weird thought. Not every girl would like her man to party with someone else just because she's a look-alike or because he misses her.

Or maybe everything is easy for Katrina because she's so much in love at all!

Priyanka dares to bare for boyfriend

Newcomer Harman Baweja is lucky to have a girlfriend like Priyanka Chopra.

She supports him in every way possible. She bailed him out and did her best to make his debut movie 'Love Story 2050' work. Alas, that didn't work out and Harman's Hrithik aping too did no good for him.

Now like a supportive girl friend Piggy Chops is set to do a sizzling item number in his next flick 'Victory'. And hold your breath, the reports are that she would be wearing nothing but a two piece. She'll be shooting for it early in the New Year.

Harman might not admit it but it seems he's shaken up by the fact that his extra expensive debut film bombed. The buzz is that there are no buyers for the flick.

Maybe that's why he's so hopeful that the inclusion of Priyanka might help the film to sell.

According to sources, "The film 'Victory' was facing some production hassles and now they are finding it difficult to find buyers, especially since the industry is also reeling under the impact of the recession in the market.

Although the film is backed by Adlabs; they are having trouble selling it. That Harman's last film was a non-starter is also a factor. Distributors who had earlier shown interest have now backed out and agree to come back in on the deal if they are offered heavy cuts in the price."

The source further adds, "Now one of the producers of the film, Manmohan Shetty, has urged the debutant director of the film, Ajit Pal, to put an item number in the film.

This may just improve the prospects of the film on the ticket windows. Harman has requested girl friend Priyanka to do the number and she has agreed." Well, that's what true lovers do. Support each other all the time. Bet Piggy Chops would agree.

Katrina is the reason for Ranbir-Deepika fight

Lover birds Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have ended up having their first major fight since the time, Ranbir proposed Deepika during the Filmfare Awards Nite, earlier this year. The reason for this fight has been Katrina Kaif!

Sources inform, "Deepika had heard from her sources about Ranbir's growing comfortability on and off the sets of Rajkumar Santoshi's Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani during the two month long shooting schedule in Ooty.

While Deepika never confronted Ranbir over it, she got very insecure when her sources from the sets of the same film reported fresh news about what was happening between the two in the Goa schedule.

It is learnt that during the Goa shoot both Ranbir and Katrina appeared more than comfortable (Vijainder-read physical) with each other than before even in front of the unit members on the sets.

Deepika headed to Goa straightaway after hearing from her source. During her one day trip she met her source and headed back to Mumbai after hearing it all in person.

When Ranbir came to know about it, he called Deepika and they both had a huge argument over the phone which ended up in Deepika hanging up on him. Since that day, Deepika has been avoiding picking up Ranbir's calls."

No we gotta see how Salman Khan reacts to this one! Ranbir calls Salman, Sir on and off the sets since the time they did Saawariya together. Katrina had earlier expressed to us her views on Ranbir as, "A very witty co-star and fun to be with on sets."

All you Indian muslims wear black band on this Eid: Dia Mirza

All Indian muslims to wear black band on Bakr-Eid to protest against terror attacks… bollywood reacts.

Dia Mirza: "Of course I will wear a black band. It will give out a token signal against polarization in the nation. It is important for the Muslim community to speak up at this time and protest against acts of terror.

Irrfan Khan: "Yes I will wear the black band to send out the message that terrorists are the enemies of Islam. And they cannot divide Indians in the name of religion

Naseeruddin Shah: "The trouble with these symbolic gestures is you feel you've done your bit. We should hold on to this feeling of dissastisfaction and helplessness so that we are galvanized into action.

Muslims feel obliged to take up token gestures to distance themselves from the bastards behind the 26/11 horror. But why are Indian Muslims perpetually required to prove their patriotism?

Abbas (of Abbas-Mustan): "Yes, on Eid-ul-Zoha we will definitely wear a black band and request the entire Muslim community to do the same to show the world that we condemn terrorism and stand unified to combat it.

Shabana Azmi: "I'll most definitely wear the black band and urge all Indians to do so."

Iqbal Khan: "Yes I'll be wearing the black band to show that there is nothing called Islamic terrorism. I'm a Muslim and I know for a fact that Islam does not have anything to do with terrorism

Anees Bazmi: "Surely I'd be wearing a black band. Terrorism has no place in Islam"

Jiah Khan: "Yes I will be wearing it. We as Muslims don't believe in terror and condemn terrorism in the name of religion. We also need to remember the names of all the poor souls who lost their lives so cruelly and we'll pray for their peace

Kabir Khan (director of Kabul Express and New York): "Terrorists have no religion and this is something any thinking person would easily understand.

I'm a little uncomfortable with the thought that Indian Muslims have to go that extra mile to prove their allegiance with tokens of protest like the black band. Why just Muslims? Every Indian should be wearing black bands on the same day so that all of us can stand and be counted as one nation.

This would be a befitting reply to those failed nations that were created on the basis of religion. The media should give us space to condemn these madmen who have hijacked Islam with their lunatic interpretations

Abbas Tyrewala: "Yes, I'll be wearing a black armband. No clever or quotable reason for it. Just as a mark of support, solidarity and love for my city and community. And to show my rejection of violence in the name of religion, not just Islam.

Shabina Khan: "Yes I'll be wearing the band for sure. But why only Indians? I think ALL Indians should wear it to show we are one. We should wear a black band of protest even on Christmas day.

Eijaaz Khan: "I will wear it. I guess token gestures se hi kaam chalana padega. I think it would a good start for us Muslims to show we're part of the Indian mainstream reaction of anger and outrage against terrorism.

For now it might be the only gesture to prove we stand with the nation to condemn the attacks. It's imperative for the world to know what the educated Indian Muslim's sentiment is.

Farhan Akhtar: "My request is that all Indians should wear a black band regardless of their religion and community to show terrorists and those who try and exploit this situation in the upcoming elections that their tactics to divide us will no longer work.

Adnan Sami: "Sorry I won't wear the black band. These gestures are meaningless and cannot undo the ghastly tragedy that has fallen over our beloved city. Pardon me for saying this. But I think lighting of candles, etc is all humbug.

Where was the state security when our Mumbayites were being mowed down? We were calling the Black Cats from Delhi! Why don't we have our own Black Cats in Mumbai?

After all it is the financial capital of India. What difference is a black band going to make? Will it resurrect the dead?

My heart bleeds for all those who died because of these barbaric brutal misguided fools who crept in from sea to drown us in shame and sorrow.

Muzzamil Ibrahim: "I'll be wearing the band for sure."

Zoya Akhtar: "Yes I will and I hope all Indians and not just the Muslims, do so

Imtiaz Ali: "Yes, the black band band will symbolize that disease that has hit the Muslim population—terrorism. And the mainstream Muslim's resolve to get rid of it. Bakri Eid is the festival of sacrifice. These are not safe times And this time we need to get out of our safe zone.

Amna Sharif: "First of all there's nothing to celebrate. And yes I'd wear a black band on an auspicious day like Eid but not only as a Muslim, but an Indian. All of us should stand united against the brutal terrorists who are enemies of humanity and peace."

Zayed Khan: "Our nation has been attacked by a bunch of cowards who in the name of religion call themselves martyrs of God. What a joke! What kind of people would attack defenceless humanbeings?

These people have hijacked our religion to put forward their own political agenda of dividing our people and country. We must pause to look at history where we'll see how the same divide-and-rule policy was applied by other invaders.

I stand shoulder-to-shoulder with all my brothers and sisters from every religion against the evil and cowardly act.

I will wear the black band on Eid and urge every Muslim who loves India as much as I do to do the same. We must send out a clear and strong message to the perpetrators of this ghastly act that they can never ever win.

Baba Azmi: "Yes I will wear the black band and I think every Indian should be wearing it."

The girl who used to say Sex & SRK sells has changed

Neha Dhupia isn't shying away from admitting that she made quite a few wrong choices in her five year long career.

She has seen hits and flops at regular intervals but 2007 onwards; she is being seen in a different light altogether. While she is doing Mithya with as much as ease as Singh Is Kinng, soon after Dasvidaniya, she is appearing in Maharathi. A planned move?

"For me, the most important thing is the fact that I am enjoying it all. There are these so-called commercial projects and then also the other kind of films that I am doing.

There is a very definite line between the two. I am not undermining the 'masala' fare but seriously, films like Mithya, Dasvidaniya and now Maharathi are made from the heart.

These are the kind of films that are made for the love of cinema. I am enjoying being a part of both kinds of films", Neha says happily.

So the balancing act would continue? "Pretty much so", Neha says promptly, "I have to feel good with the kind of work I do and currently I am very happy.

However, let me clarify that not even for a single minute am I saying no to big commercial cinema. After all, that's where I have my maximum accessibility to audience.

These are the films that have maximum reach and more and more people want to watch them since they wish to leave their worries back home. So yes, I would be seen in all kinds of cinema."

She goes on to add, "Today when I sign a movie, I make sure that my role has to be good. Length is not the deciding factor.

Also, I don't see a project as commercial or offbeat. I check whether there is something about a project which is good. Something has to come out of it, whether cinematically or commercially.

There should be at least one set of target audience where it is guaranteed to work. This is why not you would see me either as a part of a good film or a good project."

The change doesn't seem sudden though. She would have certainly planned it all out while choosing the distinct projects that she is seen in today?

Says Neha, "If you have to look ahead, you have to see what you have left behind as well. It is plain and simple mathematics. I took two steps back to make sure that I could take four steps forward."

And what made her do that? "Honestly, I was not enjoying the work I was doing at all. But no, let me not say that I was being misguided.

Puhleeeze, they were my decisions and no one else was responsible for the work that I did. Today, I can gladly look back and say that yes, I was facing a storm but I braved it. I was making a few mistakes; I learnt from them and moved on."

The future looks good though, isn't it, what with 2009 also showcasing her in a variety of roles? "Yes, I can confidently say that 2009 would be even better.

There are movies like Raat Gayi Baat Gayi and I Am 24 which are completed and should release early 2009. Then I have also just completed Pappu Can't Dance Saala which is another amazing film.

Raftaar with Emraan Hashmi is a film I am looking forward to as this is commercial and yet so demanding as an actor. I would also be beginning work on Priyadarshan's De Dana Dan with Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. So as you see, quite some variety at play", smiles Neha.
