I am not a nude or topless model

Salman Khan’s ‘special’ friend and Hollywood actress Claudia Ciesla is livid. And very rightly so! The Indian media has incorrectly ‘termed’ her a nude and a topless model. In an exclusive interview to a reporter, Claudia poured her heart out:

“I had done just one shoot 4 years ago and that too for a very prestigious international publication. That was at the beginning of my career, and while I won’t say it was a mistake; I may add in hindsight that it was an indiscretion.”

Expressing her anger, disgust and disappointment at being incorrectly termed a nude or topless model, Claudia while referring to certain reports in the Indian media said, “Unfortunately they never checked. They wrote what they read or just presumed things.

I cannot explain to every journalist individually, but I humbly request the Indian media through this report to kindly get their facts right before ‘terming’ or ‘labeling’ someone. It’s a really tough world out there. It’s not easy to make it as a super model.

It takes a lot of hard work, perseverance, determination and sacrifice – hours at the gym, diets, rehearsals – it’s not just cakewalk. Years of hard work to build a good reputation can be destroyed by just one irresponsible report.”

“I am working hard to promote Indian ethnic fashion in Europe. I have modeled and showcased Bollywood designer Umair Zafar’s bridal collection all over Europe. But the media doesn’t seem to notice that.

There are several good pix around wherein I am either modeling Indian outfits by Umair or showcasing traditional Indian wear. But that doesn’t make it to the front page, ” Claudia lamented, adding that one or two fake photos circulating around on the internet immediately make news.

Bollywood’s Badshah Salman Khan had last week officially acknowledged German supermodel and Hollywood actress Claudia Ciesla as his "special friend" laying to rest all gossip regarding their ‘very special friendship’.

Priyanka Kothari set to sizzle again

Changing her name did not help Priyanka Kothari aka Nisha Kothari much. She was last seen in a tantalizing item number with Fardeen Khan in ‘Darling’. Her delayed release ‘Go’ went unnoticed and without creating any stir.

Now, it seems she is all set to impress everyone with her forthcoming flick ‘Agyaat’ where she plays the solo female lead. She also has a sizzling dance number in the film titled ‘Kiss Mix’.

“Yes, that’s my song in Agyaat. Don’t you like the sound of ‘Kiss Mix’? I find it quite cute actually; it is just one of it’s own kinds,” says Priyanka.

When the shooting of AGYAAT had come to a standstill, only a few scenes involving Priyanka were waiting to be shot. The earlier plans were to have only song to be picturised but later ‘Kiss Mix’ was added as an after thought.

“This is one song which has excited me so much after a very long time. And before you call it as an item or a promotional number, let me clear this at the very onset that ‘Kiss Mix’ would be very much a part of the film”, says Priyanka.

Supreme Court disapproves of Ramu's song

The Supreme Court on Monday disapproved of the controversial song "Jana Gana Mana Rann" in director Ram Gopal Varma's new film "Rann", saying nobody has the right to tinker with the national anthem.

A vacation bench of Justice V.S. Sirpurkar and Justice R.M. Lodha said this while hearing a lawsuit by the director challenging the denial of permission for exhibition of a promotional film for the song, which is based on India's national anthem "Jana Gana Mana".

"We have read it (the script of the song). It gives a total negative sense. It appears that every line of the national anthem has been proved wrong," said the bench.

"Nobody has got the right to tinker with the national anthem," the bench observed, while denying any prompt legal relief to Varma against the May 8 order of the Central Film Certification Board.

The board had denied Varma the permission for release of the promo on the grounds that the song, "Jana Gana Mana Rann", had distorted and tampered with the national anthem.

Refusing to grant any urgent legal relief to the film director, the bench told him to first approach the appellate tribunal, set up under the Cinematography Act, 1952 to challenge the board's decision.

The bench also asked the tribunal to decide on Varma's lawsuit challenging the board's decision within a month and subsequently asked the film director to come back to it if he was not satisfied with the appellate tribunal's ruling.

Appearing for Varma, senior counsel Arun Jaitley sought scrapping of the board's decision, contending that it has prompted various television channels to not show the promo.

Jaitley contended that the board's decision has made even mobile telephone service providers averse to uploading the song as caller tunes for fear of insulting the national anthem.

In his lawsuit, Varma contended that the "Jana Gana Mana Rann" song in his film merely uses the national anthem in a respectful manner for the purpose of artistic expression.

He said the issue involves a citizens' fundamental right to freedom of speech and expression.

Jaitley argued that if the film song could be misconstrued as showing disrespect to the national anthem, then the flag of various political parties too would be regarded as no lesser an insult to the national flag.

He said after all the flags of parties like the Congress, Nationalist Congress Party and Trinamool Congress bear a striking similarity to the national flag barring their central symbols.

But the court did not appear to be convinced by his argument.

"I fed ostriches and got pecked by one! And also fed a giraffe, they have the longest purple tongues, wrapped it around my hand, leaving its saliva all over it, eeow! But what fun," the actress posted on her blog.
