Seven On-Screen Couples with Zero Chemistry

So we all have our favourites when it comes to the hottest on-screen couples. Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol, Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif, Hrithik Roshan-Aishwarya Rai… the list goes on. But what about actors who make us cringe with their lack of chemistry? These are couples who make us go “eew” instead of “aww”. Here are the Top 7.

Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor: It took two long years to complete Mausam. What was the couple doing; eating carrots? May be it was Mr Karamchand aka Pankaj Kapoor who was doing that. Whatever it was, Shahid-Sonam’s chemistry just doesn’t work in spite of having ample amount of time to get comfortable with each other.

Imran Khan and Shruti Haasan: Imran Khan is known for his wooden expression and Shruti’s repertoire of expressions… well let’s not go there. Together they looked so impassive in Luck that it felt like two chairs mating!

Ajay Devgn and Shazahn Padamsee: They have two decades of age difference between them. But age hardly matters since most of our top-notch heroes romance heroines half their age (SRK-Deepika, Akshay-Katrina…); but with Ajay-Shazahn it kind of looked erm.. incestuous! He looked like her father in Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji; don’t you think?

Salman Khan and Zarine Khan: This couple also has two decades of age difference between them. Wait… you get the drift. Although in their case it was Zarine who looked like his mother, since Salman is so child-like.

Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone: Considering both are enviably tall and fairly good looking, one would think their chemistry would be astounding in Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey. Sadly it wasn’t. But then again it was probably director Ashutosh Gowariker’s script that was the culprit.

Bobby Deol and Sonam Kapoor: There was absolutely no spark or anything like ‘chemistry’ between them in Thank You. But to be fair to Sonam; she was paired with Bobby Deol! What choice did she have?

Sanjay Dutt- Mallika Sherawat/ Sanjay Dutt- Ameesha Patel: What do you get when you pair a sexy actress (but not really talented) with a podgy actor (who is brilliant)? You get Double Dhamaal and Chatur Singh Two Star!

Hot Style Icons of All Time

Remember that snapshot moment of Marilyn Monroe in a pleated white dress, or Elvis Presley’s quiff or Zeenat Aman’s winged eye look? Here are the top 10 iconic styles made famous by celebrities over the years. We’re sure down the line Lady Gaga will make it to this list too!

Amy Winehouse (A bee in her bonnet): Amy Winehouse died young, but her legacy will live on. The same can be said about her hair. Her towering black beehive ‘do’, combined with black eyeliner, stands as an iconic testimonial to the singer’s troubled life.

Sridevi (Sari-savitri): Let’s hope Sridevi’s sexy rain song doesn’t come to your mind. The focus here is the lady’s iconic sari trend. Who else could afford to wear monotone sari drapes and hope to create a fashion trend out of it?

Marilyn Monroe (Million dollar dress): The dress that suggestively soars above Marilyn Monroe’s legs, in a snapshot ingrained in our memories, makes it to the list without any effort. The blonde bombshell took the world by storm with her platinum locks, her beauty mark and of course her curvaceous figure in A Seven Year Itch. Recently the dress sold for $ 4.6 million at an auction! Cool,

Zeenat Aman (Cleopatra’s eyes): Alluring the world with her winged eye look, Zeenat Aman iconi-fied the elongated eyeliner trend more than Cleopatra and her Egyptian bandwagon did!

Audrey Hepburn (Classic black): Ever wondered if Audrey Hepburn was actually wearing the colour black in her black ‘n’ white films? Yes, her iconic black dress from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, graced with a string of pearls and the regal cigarette holder (just for show kids), made Coco Chanel look like a copycat rather than the other way around.

Elvis Presley (Rock ‘n’ roll sideburns): Countless Elvis fans have stuck a tuft of fake hair to their faces in pursuit of the perfect Elvis sideburns. They never got there… Also known for his iconic jumpsuits, the king of rock n roll was also pretty possessive of his ‘Blue Suede Shoes’ we hear.

Michael Jackson (Bejeweled glove): From military-style jackets to his iconic white-glove, Michael Jackson lives on in music and in style. Pegged pants, black shoes, and stark white socks, was only the beginning of his fashion daring. More iconic than his ‘moonwalk’ is the jeweled glove he wore in 1983, that sold at an auction for $350,000 in 2009.

Sharmila Tagore (All in knot-shell): From a sex symbol to a National award winner, nothing defines this most wanted actress of the yesteryear better than her knotty-blouses! Akele Akele Kahan Ja rahe ho (An Evening in Paris) not only had girls trying to emulate her styled bouffant but they went gaga over her butterfly knot blouses.

Parveen Babi (Retro glamour): Parveen’s look in the movie Ameer Aadmi Gareeb Aadmi was an instant rage. She bought in an interesting change to the contemporary headband and a revelation to those fed-up with their boring long tresses.

John Lennon (Round glasses): The cutest iconic celebrity style has to be John Lennon's innocent, round, wire-framed glasses. Looking at us peacefully through those clear round specs, he wooed us with his equally iconic song 'Imagine'. Although there are a lot of eyewear styles out there right now, pass a thought for those simple yet spectacular spectacles!

Blender's Pride Fashion Tour 2011: Glam Showstoppers

Bold silhouettes, old world opulence and retro chic, the Blender's Pride Fashion Tour, Delhi, was ripe with show-stopping celebrities and stunning garments. Vote for your favourite celebrity showstopper.

Saif Ali Khan: Saif Ali Khan amazed the crowd in a well-fitted suit, doing justice to Mandira Wirk’s opulent collection. His stance at the end of the ramp baffles though.

Ranveer Singh: We think the film industry gives Ranveer Singh an unnecessary ego boost. First, he’s featured on Simi Selects India’s Most Desirable and secondly, designers seem to love him on the ramp. Here he is walking for his favourite designers Rohit & Rahul, in a show-stopping outfit from their line “Amazement”. Do you think the man has style?

Soha Ali Khan: Chameli look for Soha? Ramona Narang’s Ibella collection comprised of bold silhouettes, vibrant colours and a flower-laden Soha Ali Khan.

Sonal Chauhan: Rina Dhaka’s monsoon holiday collection featured the beautiful Sonal Chauhan as a showstopper.

Lisa Haydon: Rascal’s item girl, Lisa Haydon, brings back retro charm in this show-stopping jumpsuit from Asmita Marwa’s Metamorphosis collection.

Anushka Sharma: The outfit Anushka Sharma’s wearing is from Wendell Rodricks' Sorbet Splash collection, which explains the colour choice but not the 'night wear nightmare' gown.

Minissha Lamba: The fact that Minissha could manage an elegant swirl under all that velvet and caked make up is an applaudable feat. Designer Reynu Tandon lost out on the basics of fashion, styling Minissha in an outfit that makes her look neck-less.

Angela Jonsson: Rocky S presented his Red Carpet collection and Angela Jonsson was the perfect showstopper.
